About Learning with Evie
What is Learning with Evie?
Learning with Evie is a bespoke in person/online maths tutoring company that adapts to the needs of the learners. Every session is built around what helps our learners thrive — whether they’re visual, practical, or need step-by-step clarity — helping them move from frustration to confidence.
Who is Evie?
Evie is the founder and CEO of Learning with Evie. With over 10 years of tutoring experience and a background in Electronics Engineering (Master’s degree holder), she's supported students of all abilities to truly understand maths — not just memorise it.
What does your tagline “Demonstrate, Learn, Empower” mean?
It’s the foundation of everything we do:
- Demonstrate – we walk students through topics clearly and carefully, making sure our students understand.
- Learn – They get time to practise and make sense of it in their own way.
- Empower – They leave with genuine confidence in their ability to succeed — in maths and beyond.
Sessions & Learning
What ages or levels do you teach?
We work with students from KS1 to GCSE, across both foundation and higher-tier maths.
How are sessions tailored to each student?
Before starting, we’ll have a free consultation to discuss your child’s goals, confidence, and learning style. Every lesson is then planned just for them — no two sessions are the same because no two learners are the same.
How long are the lessons?
Standard lessons are 50 minutes.
How often should my child have lessons?
Most students benefit from one or two sessions per week, though this depends on their goals and schedule. We’ll work together to find what suits your child best.
Do you offer group sessions?
Yes! Small, focused group sessions are available for students of a similar level who enjoy learning with others.
Online Learning
How do online sessions work?
Lessons take place on a secure video platform using interactive tools. Students can ask questions, work through problems, and see examples in real time — just like in person. We will be conducting the sessions via Teams and you will receive an invite via the info@learningwithevie.co.uk email address.
What does my child need for lessons?
A reliable internet connection, a laptop/computer with a camera and microphone, and a quiet space to learn. A notebook and pen are always helpful too!
Payments & Bookings
How do I book a session?
Simply fill in our 'Contact Us' form with your details and what you would require. This will then be followed by an initial conversation, and then one of our team will send out a confirmation invoice where you will be able to pay via the bank details on the invoice.
How much do lessons cost?
Prices vary depending on whether it’s an individual or group session. We'll always discuss pricing transparently before any bookings are made!
How do I pay for sessions?
Payments are made securely online, with exact bank details appearing in your invoice.
Progress & Confidence
How do you track progress?
We always keep parents updated with regular feedback on understanding, progress of learner, and confidence. You’ll always know exactly how your child is improving and what we’re working on next.
What if my child doesn’t like maths or lacks confidence?
That’s exactly where we can help! We specialise in working with learners who struggle with confidence. With patience, clarity, and encouragement, Learning with Evie can help them rediscover their belief in themselves — not just in maths, but in learning overall.
Cancellation Policy & AOB's
What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens! Sessions can be cancelled or rescheduled with at least 24 hours’ notice.
Do you offer exam or holiday booster sessions?
Yes — we run tailored revision and catch-up sessions during holidays and exam seasons. These are great for building confidence before key tests.
Where are you based?
We are currently based in Surrey - happy to do in-person sessions that are in and around the Woking area. The majority of our students will be online, meaning we can work with students across the UK and beyond!
